How to improve video editing on a slow computer using Offline Editing in Premiere

This is a tutorial about dealing with slow and choppy playback when trying to edit in Adobe Premiere. Since I've had my GoPro Hero 3 and my go-to setting being 1080p at 60 frames per second, my computer can't really handle this quality - at least not smoothly - which makes editing really difficult and pretty frustrating. So, to prevent this issue, I use a technique called 'Offline Editing'. Basically, Offline Editing is using lower quality versions of your footage to do your editing and then replacing it with your original footage once you're done with the editing process. This lower quality footage runs perfectly on my machine, and makes scrubbing, trimming and moving footage around much more responsive and eliminates any lag. Once I'm happy with all my cuts, I simply relink the original footage - and from then I'll go on to colour correct and add any effects to get my edit finished.
