THE BETA LEVEL EDITOR IS OUT, PLEASE REFER TO THIS: http://dennaton.blogspot.ru/2015/12/beta-installation-and-beta-period.html A guide/how-to/tutorial on how to access the level editor and add custom levels/maps to Hotline Miami 2. The Level Editor is still in alpha and very unstable, that's why it's not accessible by normal means. To access the level editor in Hotline Miami 2, you need to go through the following steps: 1. Download this exe: http://is.gd/hlm2editor 2. Drop it into your Hotline Miami 2 folder, the Steam version is located in Program Files (x86) ＞ Steam ＞ steamapps ＞ common ＞ Hotline Miami 2 3. Launch the game using said executable (HotlineMiami2Editor.exe). 4. Choose "Alpha Editor" from the main menu. How to play custom levels: 5. Close the character selector (click "Cancel"). 6. Move your cursor to the top of the screen, a menu should appear. 7. Hover over "File", choose "Load Level" from File's dropdown menu. 8. Choose the level you downloaded in the pop-out window and load it. 9. Hover over "File" again and click "Play Level" In case you don't want to download unknown exe files from the internet, here's how you can edit your own HLM2 exe: 1. Download a Hex Editor. For Windows systems, XVI32 is a suitable program. 2. Back up your original Hotline Miami 2 executable. This is an optional step, but recommended in case something goes wrong. 3. Open the Hotline Miami 2 executable with the hex editor of your choice. 4. For versions pre-1.01h: Jump to address 77A30C. Change its value to 58. 5. For version 1.01h (Steam): Jump to address 6C7EDD, change its value to 60; then, move one address forward (to 6C7EDE) and change its value to 25. 6. Save your changes. 7. Run the game using the newly modified executable. You should now be able to access the editor from the main menu. Note that this method does not seem to work for everyone. Also, the required addresses will likely change with every update - the first method is proven to work, and as such, recommended. Disappearing floors are fixed by going back to the main menu and reloading the level. Keep in mind, that using the alpha level editor might degrade your save files over time, so backup your Hotline Miami 2 folder before tinkering with it, save often while making levels and use all the info provided in this video at your own risk!
