#MixTipMonday Great mixing starts with great recording so today I've got a little acoustic guitar recording tutorial for you. The big take away here is that every acoustic recording scenario will be different, so you must listen and adjust the mic to find the best placement. If you don't have a dedicated control room it is best to record a section of the song, listen back and then make your adjustments. Generally, the closer you have the mic to the guitar, the boomier the sound will be, but also think about vertical placement. If the center of the capsule is closer to the lower strings it will capture more of them and vice versa.
